The actual work I had done was done well as far as I know (water pump and serpentine belt replaced). The reason for the 3 stars is that I also received a substantial list of suggested repairs, some of which I can (and did) do, and a few which I felt were questionable. I must raise a concern about the recommendation to replace front and rear brakes (pads and rotors). I was told that they all needed to be replaced ASAP...the pads were at 2mm and the rotors were worn and needed replacing. I had another shop verify this recommendation and they measured the pads at 8mm and also measured the rotors and they were also fine...well within specs and DID NOT need to be replaced. I have the actual measurements and saw for myself the specs for my brakes. Most of the other recommendations were either issues already known by me or valid concerns so they were legitimate. The brake recommendation was NOT valid and I am disappointed that this was something I was told needed to be done. Were they actually measured? How could there be this level of discrepancy? There are one or two other less significant concerns about recommendations made (like needing an oil change at 2,000 miles since my last one...it's a diesel truck, the oil gets black quickly!) I'm sorry, but based on this unfortunate experience, I can't recommend your shop and I will need to look elsewhere for my service needs on my truck and other vehicles. The personal interaction was great, nice people!
Good morning Mike: I apologize for not responding to your review much sooner, but I was out of the office until this morning. First of all, I want to thank you for taking the time to post your review. It's extremely important to us that we understand our client's concerns. Upon reading your review, we pulled the documents and discussed the inspection report with our Technician, who performed the service and the inspection. We offer the courtesy inspection as a means of becoming familiar with a new vehicle as well as advising our customers of the overall condition of their vehicle. In reviewing the report, we did indicate that the front brakes and rotors needed to be replaced, but we did not recommend any repairs on the rear brakes. It's very important to us that our Technicians are accurate on every level and I am wondering if we could ask you to return to the shop so that we could measure the brakes and rotors again. When we are wrong, we readily admit to any mistakes made. The oil change was requested because the Technician determined that the oil was dirty. Most importantly, Mike, we do not want anyone to walk away feeling like we have pushed services not required. We've been in business since 1979 and we conduct our business with the highest of ethics. We would not be here for nearly 40 years if that weren't the case. We are keenly aware that automotive repair shops must operate with the highest level of ethics in order to remain a viable business. What I would like to do is kindly ask you to come back so that we can measure the front brakes and rotors with you present. If our Technician made a mistake, we own it and we apologize for misleading you in any manner. I will call you so follow-up and I do want to thank you for making us aware of this situation and for also acknowledging the positive, personal interaction of our team. Thank you, Paula Fay
