Schneider’s Automotive Repair Bios
Ken Fay – Owner
Ken and his wife Paula, purchased Schneider’s Automotive Repair in March of 2017 from Mitch Schneider, who formally retired from the Automotive Repair business. Mitch was determined to find the right people to turn his shop of over 40 years to, and we think he did a great job! Ken previously owned another shop in the San Fernando valley – Star Auto Haus, for over 20 years. In addition to owning the shop, Ken is a certified Master Technician. If there is any spare time Ken enjoys camping and off-road riding, camping, and gardening. His dream car is a 1969 Mach 1 with a 428-cobra jet engine that he is currently performing a complete restoration on. He loves barbecuing in his outdoor kitchen and can be found in his backyard shop tinkering on one of the many vintage cars that he collects, another of Ken’s passions. Ken brings over 35 years of automotive repair experience and truly enjoys meeting and working with our customers.
Paula Fay – Owner
Paula has spent her career in home entertainment working with the studios but when Ken came home with the idea of purchasing Schneider’s, Paula joined the family business! She enjoys camping, off-road riding and is a passionate snow skier. Ken and Paula love to travel and spend time with their 5 daughters and their newest addition, baby granddaughter Monroe. Currently, Paula is raising 9 chickens, who occupy the backyard with her 2 horses, 3 dogs, and 2 cats. Paula focuses on the marketing and branding of Schneider’s and can often be found chatting with clients and driving our Customers to and from the shop! Paula’s goal is to get to know each and every customer who walks through the front door!
Justin Ross - Lead Technician
Meet Justin Ross who previously worked with Ken at Star Auto Haus and is a welcome member of the team at Schneider’s. He brings over 13 years of experience as a mechanic with him and is a diesel specialist among his other areas of expertise. In his “free” time Justin loves to work on cars when he’s not working on a customer’s vehicles! Justin is the father of a beautiful daughter and an adorable boy. He recently purchased a 1969 Toyota Corona that he is modifying for the track and street! Justin’s commitment to excellence serves him well. People come from all over to have Justin work on their vehicles. We are thrilled to have Justin with us!
Danny Mendes - Shop Foreman
Meet Danny Mendes – another team member of Schneider’s who previously worked with Ken at Star Auto Haus. Danny has been in the automotive repair industry for more than 20 years and has an extensive background in anything with a motor – both gas and diesel and specializes in European cars. Danny and his wife have two very active boys and the proud Daddy of his baby girl. His favorite pastime is spending time with his family, participating in school events with his boys – or going out for a nice seafood dinner. He has a number of “dream cars” and is a vintage Japanese car enthusiast. His current fav car is a 1972 Nissan Skyline. Danny’s mechanical experience combined with his commitment to providing outstanding service to his customers, makes him an ideal Shop Foreman.
David Martinez – Technician
David has been with Schneider’s for more than 7 years and has over 11 years of experience in automotive service & repair. David started his career as a porter and the face of Schneider’s, driving our customers back and forth to work or home. He has since been promoted to a Service Technician and works side by side with our other Technicians. David is a consummate family man and his main priority is spending time with his wife, 2 daughters, and son. His dream car is a brand-new Toyota Camry that he never has to work on, so he can take his family out for seafood dinners and trips to visit family and friends. David is a great addition to our team of Technicians.
Joe Lumsden – Service Manager
Joe is the former Service Manager for Star Auto Haus whom Ken brought over to join Schneider’s back in 2017. Joe has 35 years of automotive experience and is our resident high-performance automotive consultant. Joe is our busy Service Manager and works closely with our Customers and our Technicians. He makes sure that every service or repair is performed in a timely manner and thoroughly explained to our customers so they understand exactly what has been completed on their vehicle. He and his son who attends Moorpark College are avid fishermen, hunters, and gemologists and both are major Vikings football fans as Joe is originally from Iowa! Joe is the glue that binds us all together!
Aunique Lozano - Office Manager
Aunique has spent her career in the medical field up until the time she joined Schneider’s! After having her last baby a few years ago, Aunique decided she wanted to spend more time with her children, so she changed careers to operations and accounting of businesses and joined our team. Aunique has over 20 years of experience working with people, which she absolutely loves, and is passionate about her daily interaction with our customers and suppliers. Aunique enjoys taking on new challenges and learning new industries, which brought her to Schneider’s. When not at work she is home spending quality time with her daughters.
George Diagne - Vintage Car Technician
George Diagne is the newest member of our team here at Schneider’s. George has been in the automotive repair industry for more than 20 years and is a vintage car enthusiast. He loves building and restoring classic cars and enjoys a project! George is very active. His favorite pastime is traveling and camping, spending time with his boys – or going out for a nice spicy dinner. George’s mechanical expertise, combined with his commitment to providing outstanding service to his customers, makes him an ideal Technician here at Schneider’s and an important part of our team.
